Plant growth regulator
The most commonly used gibberellin in plant tissue culture. GA3 promotes stem elongation, breaks seed dormancy, and stimulates somatic embryo germination. In vitro, use at 0.1–1.0 mg/L to elongate compact rosette-type shoot cultures, induce somatic embryo germination, and overcome shoot growth inhibition in difficult species. Heat-labile — do not autoclave. Filter-sterilize through a 0.22 µm membrane and add to cooled medium (~55°C).
