They are not really the same category of thing, which is the most useful part of this page.
You want one system to run the business as well as the lab — orders, stock, cost-price and invoices alongside production — you are comfortable with an on-premise deployment and the project that comes with it, and a long track record with large growers is what reassures you.
You want the bench record right, this week, without a server or a deployment project; you want to see the price before you talk to anybody; and you would rather keep invoicing in the system that already does your invoicing.

Three moments a lab usually recognises.
A customer, an exporter or an inspector wants the history of a batch. Open the lot by lab code and cut week and it is already there: each stage, the tubs and plants counted at it, and the contamination seen along the way.
Contamination is logged where it was seen and reported by lot, crop and stage, so a rise at one stage shows up as a pattern you can point at rather than a feeling at the end of the season.
Bring the export and the import reads it. Start one crop on the free plan, run it beside the sheet until you trust it, and move the rest when you know.
IVS describes itself as industry-specific ERP, and that is a fair description: the modules run from initiation and media through to delivery notes, cost-price and invoices. Buying it is a project with a scope, a server and a timeline, and for a grower at the scale of their published customer list that is often exactly right.
xPlant Pro is deliberately narrower. It keeps the record the bench makes and the paperwork that is prepared from it, and leaves your accounting where it is. That is a smaller promise, and it is the reason a lab can be using it the same day rather than the same quarter.
Is xPlant Pro an Invitrosoft alternative?
For the laboratory half, yes. For the ERP half — orders, stock, cost-price, invoicing — it is not an alternative at all, and a lab buying those should buy those. This page is here because the search exists, not because the two products do the same job.
What does Invitrosoft cost?
They do not publish a price; their site asks you to request a demo and quotes after it. That is a normal way to sell an ERP. If a published price matters to you, ours is on the plans page.
Do you have their production planning?
Not in the ERP sense. They plan production from sales orders and calculate cost-price; we hold the lot, the counts and the stage history, and prepare the records that come out of them. If planning from orders is the thing you are buying, they do it and we do not.
Can xPlant Pro run on our own server?
No. It runs as a hosted service. That is the trade: nothing to install and nothing to maintain, in exchange for not holding the database yourself.
