Plant growth regulator

Plant Growth RegulatorspgrGeneric reference

BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine) — 1 g

by Generic1 g

The most widely used synthetic cytokinin for shoot proliferation in tissue culture. BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine) inhibits apical dominance and stimulates axillary bud break, typically at 0.1–2.0 mg/L. Higher concentrations risk vitrification (hyperhydricity). Dissolve in dilute NaOH or KOH — add powder slowly to a small volume of 1 M NaOH, then dilute with water. Prepare fresh stock solutions every 2–3 months and store at 4°C protected from light.
