Plant growth regulator
A stable synthetic auxin used for root induction, callus formation, and shoot tip cultures. More potent and stable than IAA and resistant to enzymatic degradation. At low concentrations (0.01–0.5 mg/L) promotes rooting; at 1–5 mg/L induces callus. Often preferred over 2,4-D when less embryogenic callus is desired. Dissolve in dilute NaOH or 70% ethanol.
