Casein Hydrolysate — 100 g

A complex mixture of amino acids and short peptides derived from acid or enzymatic hydrolysis of milk casein. Added at 100–500 mg/L to provide supplemental organic nitrogen for callus cultures, protoplast culture, and anther culture where cells require additional amino acid support. Acid hydrolysate has a more uniform amino acid profile; enzymatic hydrolysate retains tryptophan. Filter-sterilize heat-sensitive batches; most preparations are autoclave-stable.
