Myo-inositol — 100 g

A cyclic polyol (cyclohexanehexol) included in MS and most standard tissue culture media at 100 mg/L. Functions as a membrane precursor (phosphoinositides), osmoprotectant, and cell wall polysaccharide precursor. Required for normal cell division and differentiation, and serves as a precursor for auxin (IAA) and other growth factor biosynthesis. Heat-stable; autoclave in bulk medium. Store concentrated stock at 4°C.
